In 1960, Andre, Lucien, Roland and Peter Belletete founded Bellecraft. The brothers began manufacturing hardwood sofa and chair frames for the local upholstery industry. They started in a small barn behind Roland's house and soon had to move into a new, larger building. The 1970's saw the business grow and develop. The manufacturing plant expanded from 500 square feet to over 34,000 square feet. The 1970's also saw the retirement of brothers Roland and Peter During the early 1980's, Andre and Lucien decided to diversify the product line into Pine case goods and bedroom furniture. Modern woodworking equipment was purchased to meet the increasing demand for our furniture products In 1995, Andy's son Tom became a partner in the business after the retirement of Lucien. Tom and his wife Deb worked together to revamp the product line with unique new furniture designs. We introduced hand painted decoration on our country style line and a wide choice of stain and paint color choices. Bellecraft now offers solid oak occasional tables groups and cabinets, as well as solid cherry occasional tables and cabinets. The Winchendon and Gardner area has a long distinguished history of furniture manufacturing which lives on to this day. It is common to find second and third generation furniture makers still plying the craft and skills of their grandfathers. Of course, today we have modern equipment; however, nothing can replace the skilled hands and trained eyes of a true artisan. At Bellecraft we are fortunate to have these experienced people manufacturing our furniture for you. Our furniture fits into any décor. Whether you are looking for country style, shaker or traditional furniture, Bellecraft has the style for you. Our designs are known for their simple elegance and sophistication. Every piece is built with pride and attention to detail by people who care about their work so your children can take pride in saying, "This table was my parent's and it looks as beautiful today as when I was a kid". Bellecraft is furniture to last generations. We strive to build a good product at a fair price. Now that is value! |
